It has been very a difficult time for both Couples, Suppliers and Asian Wedding Venues during this terrible pandemic. Many couples have had their dream wedding cancelled or have had to postpone a number of times. Suppliers are being as helpful and as accommodating as possible in terms of changing dates and offering partial or full refunds when appropriate. Many Venues have also been exceptionally accommodating and have done the best they can for there clients. Unfortunately, There have also been a number of Venues and Suppliers who have gone into liquidation due to this pandemic.
The Asian and Indian Wedding markets have always been thriving, and I would like to think that this pandemic has just bought about a temporary pause, to the good old days. On June 14th 2021 it was announced by Boris Johnson, that the number of people who could attend a wedding was unrestricted , it was previously just 30 guests and earlier in the pandemic even less, some couples just had enough and therefore proceeded to having small celebrations. It was also stated that social distancing would still apply, and numbers allowed would be at the discretion of the relevant venue, it was also announced that, stand up drinks receptions were not allowed and only the bride and grooms first dance and cake cutting was permitted. Yes its a good start, but still one hand is tied behind everyone's back.
Lets hope that when the government make their next public announcement on 19 July 2021 that all restrictions will hopefully be lifted.
I personally feel we will all bounce back very soon and with a vengeance. However I do feel that we may still see some restrictions in place, and they will need to managed very sensibly.
