I was delighted to have been asked by Ritesh Patel who is the proprietor of Shiv Events, to have been Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies, at his sisters wedding, which was to be held at The Copthorne Effingham in East Grinstead in Sussex near Gatwick Airport. I got very excited when I was asked, as I knew Ritesh and The Shiv team, would go to extraordinary lengths, in order to ensure, that the bride and groom, would have a day to remember, and they certainly did that...Apexa and Trusit were one of the most amazing couples, I had ever had the pleasure of officiating for.
I arrived at the venue, very early in the morning, in order to conduct all of my checks, and to meet the fantastic Event Manager who was Rupesh Patel . He performed magnificently on the day. One of the checks I made, was to check everything was in progress, and the stage was being set, for the Civil Ceremony. Wed in Style took charge of the decor and draping, and in thier very creative style, they built the most amazing stage for the civil ceremony, and they worked closely with Shiv Events, in order to ensure, the draping looked the part, and would blend well with the rest of the room, and would create the write atmosphere.
Guests arrived very early, and were all greeted by myself, and they enjoyed a very nice breakfast, courtesy of the fantastic Sapna Caterers, who always ensure, only excellence.I always receive fantastic feedback from clients and guests, about the food and service of Sapna, and this event was no exception. Within this time also, one of my roles, was to attach around 120 buttonholes, to members of the brides and grooms family.
Following breakfast, guests were invited to be seated to the civil ceremony, the atmosphere was set for a wonderful Civil Ceremony, the registrar also commented and said ' This was the most amazing set up she had ever seen '. The Civil took around 25 minutes, this incorporated a welcome speech by myself, brides entrance, signings, and Bride and groom departing at the end. The registrar was kind enough to allow me to announce the bride and groom as a married couple at the end of the ceremony. Not only the proceedings but the whole event was captured by Guy and his very talented team of photographers and Videographers of Surya Wedding Films, this team also included Martin Clark of ShotnStrung, with whom I have worked alongside several times, and is always a pleasure, Surya even managed to do the most amazing on site Edit, so everyone could view highlights of the day in the evening reception. The very talented Andy Lockwood of Jibz TV was also hired to provide the Professional Crane, which captured everything from above brilliantly. The whole set up prior to the event starting, was captured by the amazing Farooq Hussain of Film 66, who I have also had the pleasure of working alongside several times.
Following the Civil Ceremony, family and other group shots took place, and I was on hand to coordinate the photos session, in order to ensure, that the bride and groom, would have all the photos taken, that they required, during the photo sessions, guests were invited into the Bentley Suite for lunch, were a rather delicious lunch was served, again courtesy of Sapna, who also catered for the evening reception beautifully. Following lunch it was time for everyone to relax, and the bride and groom were then taken for their personal photo shoot, then it was time for the bride and groom to relax, and to get changed for the evening reception.
The stage was set for the evening reception, Ritesh and the Shiv Events team ensured, that not even the smallest of details was missed out..Top Asian Wedding industry names were hired to ensure the evening, would certainly be one to remember, and yes it certainly was. These top names included, Cupcake Avenue who provided the fabulous and glittering wedding cake, Karizma London who were the Asian Wedding DJS, Pro Systems Services provided the fantastic Confetti Pyrotechnics, Mood Lighting and Spotlighting, Trav Panesar who I only know as Saxophonist extraordinaire put on on amazing show, it is always fun to have a Photobooth and Photoboothstar provided this, Akbar Lakhani and his team from Cilantro Catering provided the Bar Staff, Royal Bars provided the amazing mobile bar which was very nicely LED lit, and many others. The night was packed with speeches, live dancers, lots and lots of partying, including the drinking of one or two Jager Bombs, which saw me join in, and lots more. Overall a wonderful and memorable event for all and everyone.. Well done Shiv Events, keep up the great work.
